CABAL Online Europe Celebrates 2 Million Registrations

Games-Masters.com has announced that their free to play MMORPG Cabal Online Europe has surpassed the two million registered user mark.  There will be several events to celebrate this accomplishment and a game update that will be coming out this month.  The March update, "Illusion Castle" will introduce a revamped user interface, two new dungeons and a new set of weapons and accessories.  Here are the details;

Sony Online Entertainment Launches PoxNora for Facebook

Sony Online Entertainment has launched their first Facebook game with the arrival of PoxNora for Facebook.  This is their first foray into the Facebook app field and SOE plans on launching more games based on both new and existing intellectual properties.   You can read more information on this release after the break.

Tales of Fantasy Alpha Test Begins Today

IGG has sent word to us that the alpha test for their latest MMORPG Tales of Fantasy is getting underway today.  We have the release for you and some screenshots that were also sent our way.  In addition, we will have a bonus album of images from Tales of Fantasy posted to the MMORPGf2p.com Facebook page shortly.

Challenging the Gods Themselves in Mytheon

True Games Interactive and developer Petroglyph have released some information on one of the impressive bosses in the upcoming strategy/RPG MMO Mytheon.  Players will come face to face in a boss encounter with Poseidon, god of the seas in Greek Mythology.  Here is the release and we also have a few screenshots of this impressive boss.

Nexon Offering A Million Dollars For Great Computer Game Ideas

Wrapping up the business segment for today, Nexon America has announced the launch of "The Nexon iNitiative", which is an ambitious new program that is looking for the next "big thing" in computer gaming.  This program will provide up to one million dollars (US) to support the next generation of independent game developers.

This is a great idea, some of the most innovative games coming out now seem to be from independent developers and it would be great to see them developed for a much broader audience.  Here is more from the release;

Forsaken World CGI Trailer

Along with yesterday's announcement of the dark fantasy MMORPG Forsaken World, Perfect World Entertainment also released a CGI trailer for this impressive looking title.  Perfect World Entertainment has had a very aggressive publishing schedule this year and Forsaken World could be the biggest of the bunch.  Of the three titles already announced this year, I personally am looking forward to Forsaken World most.  You can view the trailer after the break;

Aeria Games to Publish Kingdom Heroes in Europe and North America

Aeria Games has announced that they have secured the rights to publish Kingdom Heroes in Europe and North America.  Kingdom Heroes looks like it is in the vein of a Real Time Strategy / Role Playing Game with an open PvP world.  This is a trend that we are seeing quite a bit of lately and while we are not sure it is a totally good thing, obviously it would depend on the quality of the individual games and their game mechanics.

Kingdom Heroes is scheduled for a spring 2010 release and beta sign-ups are being taken now.  Aeria Games has released some screenshots and a trailer for Kingdom Heroes and we have that for you along with the release.

Fantasy Earth Zero Open Beta Underway

The open beta for Gamepot USA's latest MMORPG Fantasy Earth Zero got underway yesterday.  Fantasy Earth Zero is developed by Square Enix, and is being published in North America by Gamepot.  Every player who participates in the open beta will receive a code for a limited edition weapon when Fantasy Earth Zero officially launches.  Many events will also be held over the course of the beta.  Here is the release and a few screenshots of those limited edition weapons.

gamigo to publish Black Prophecy Globally as a f2p Game

This is big news.  We've just received notice that gamigo has entered into an agreement with Reakktor Media  to publish the highly anticipated space based MMORPG Black Prophecy globally as a free to play title.  We'll try to find out more information as it becomes available.  Here is the release;

ijji.com's Soul of the Ultimate Nation Receives Major Update

Frogster Reaches 1 Million Users in North America

Frogster America has announced that Runes of Magic has reached the one million user mark in North America.  This is quite an achievement for a game that has only been released within the last year.  I'm not surprised.  Runes of Magic has continually impressed me with the quality and depth of the game that Frogster and Runewaker Entertainment are continually adding to and improving.  When we gave our Impressions on Runes of Magic, our praise of the game as a viable rival to WoW may have seemed somewhat pretentious but we stand by it.  RoM is a quality game at or near the top of the heap of the free to play MMORPG market.

Altis Gates Open Beta Delayed

IGG has announced that they will be holding off on the open beta test for Altis Gates.  The test was scheduled to get underway on March 7th but they tell us that the team decided to delay the game to make a major overhaul which will bring "drastic improvements" to the game.  We'll keep you posted on any new Altis Gates news.  Here is the release along with some screenshots from the game.
