alaplaya Game Portal and Land of Chaos Online Coming to N.A.

Leading European publisher of free to play online games, burda:ic have announced plans to bring their alaplaya gaming portal to the U.S., Canada and Mexico in 2010. The first major addition to the portal will arrive this summer with the launch of Land of Chaos Online (LOCO) by South Korean developer Danal. LOCO combines real time strategy elements with third person combat and a "deep" RPG foundation.

“We’re convinced that LOCO’s stunning graphics and deep, tactical gameplay will really push the boundaries of the free-to-play MMO market,” said Achim Kaspers, Managing Director of burda:ic.

Land of Chaos Online includes a roster of 30 characters from competing factions, the Army of Hell and the Forces of Nature. Characters range from "Hulking warriors, evil magicians, giant monsters, and agile gunslingers". Each character brings a distinct set of strengths and weaknesses to the battlefield and players must join up with the right combination of characters to be victorious in Land of Chaos Online.

burda:ic plans to bring close to ten MMO franchises in both English and Spanish to the United States, Canada and Mexico over the next two years, with a stable of games that already includes Florensia and Fantasy Tennis.
