Today, Runes of Magic's new raid dungeon, "The Demon Stronghold" will open its gates as part of the latest update to the free to play MMORPG. The new content patch "2.1.6 - Fall of the Demon Lord" has been deployed by Frogster on all Runes of Magic servers.
Along with the new raid dungeon, Runes of Magic will also see the addition of a Public Encounter called "Bloodbath Valley". This combat area for large groups is situated in the Aotulia Volcano area and is divided into four areas, the challenge for players in this high level area is to conquer them all. The goal to accomplish in "Bloodbath Valley" is to stop the threat of the Naga who are receiving support from a powerful Guardian. Players will be assisted by flaming demons and Elven commandos.
Other additions of note in the "Fall of the Demon Lord" patch include, the "Flower Festival" which is the Taborean version of Valentine's Day. Players can plant roses and receive titles and costumes including a Birthday Suit. A new mini-game has been added in which players can enter a dungeon to find their way to a treasure chamber and single-handedly use their skills to outwit opponents and solve various tasks.
There is also an epic quest series for players to take which will lead players to the "Great Barrier" which once kept the Naga in exile. New elite skills have been added, crafting system improvements and game balance issues have also been addressed.
